Are kids invited? 

No. We love the children of our friends and family but all wedding events (with the exception of the Sunday brunch) will be children free. We know many of you are starting families and are coming from afar, therefore please let us know if you would like recommendations for babysitters. 

What should I wear to the wedding? Is there a dress code?

The dress code is "Semiformal"/ "Dressy Casual"

  • For the ladies: A cocktail dress, a long dress or a long, dressy skirt and top. 

  • For the men: A suit and tie.

How do I get to the wedding brunch in the woods? 

You will need a car to get to brunch. 

Directions from the Bay Shore Resort and Indigo Hotels to Hanna’s Parents: 13964 S. Springview Drive, Empire, MI | cell: 908-928-0117

(GPS should work, but because Springview is a private road, sometimes it does not register)

  • From the hotel(s) stay on East Grandview Parkway (head north)
  • Take a left on 72 (also called Traverse-Empire Hwy) there is a traffic light and Toms grocery on the corner (you will also see a sign to Empire)
  • After about 10 miles on 72 you will go around a curve in the road and then there will be a flashing yellow light (red barn to the right), take a left to stay on 72
  • Stay on this highway for another five miles
  • Turn left onto S Benzonia trail which is right after the Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort on your right and a sign for Glen Arbor (If you miss Benzonia trail you will end up in the town of Empire)
  • Stay on Benzonia trail for approx. five miles
  • First road on the right once you are on Benzonia trail is Osborne Road (take a right)
  • About ½ mile up you will see Aring Road on the left. The next road on left is Springview Dr.– take a left on Springview (if you see Beaver Pond road you have gone too far)
  • Go all the way down Springview until you see Bonnie Lane- # 13964 on a green sign
  • Park on the side of Bonnie Lane or Springview and walk down Bonnie Lane to our house in the woods! (There is a turnaround at our driveway) 

Do I need to rent a car for the weekend? 

That depends on what sort of activities you plan on doing. Traverse City is very walkable and there are Lyfts and Uber available as well as Taxis if you prefer to get around via car. That being said, if you want to go hiking and to some of the more isolated beaches you'd likely want to rent your own car. 

If you do want to rent a car: 

There are 5 rental car companies (Avis, Budget, Hertz, Enterprise and National) that service the Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City, Michigan. They are located at the site of the Cherry Capital Airport terminal.
